Tom McLoughlin, founder of Totsavers.com, is a veteran of 15 years with the New York City Fire Department, assigned to the busy area of Times Square from the late 1970s through the early 1990s, as well as a former EMT working out of New York Hospital / Cornell Medical Center. Having responded to hundreds of emergencies and performing CPR a multitude of times in a multitude of emergency situations, he used those experiences to become a BLS (Basic Life Support) Instructor-Trainer for New York Hospital and founded a business providing CPR, First Aid, and Fire Safety training to corporate entities, hospitals and childcare centers throughout NYC.

Katieann King, an Instructor for TotSavers, works in a full-time position as a Nationally Accredited EMT (NAEMT) for an Orange County, NY EMS service and is currently pursuing her Paramedic license. She’s responded to hundreds of calls encompassing everything from auto accidents to medical calls to traumatic injuries. We’re proud to say Katieann was recently awarded the New York State Governor’s Award in Albany for her skilled performance at a mass-casualty bus accident in Orange County where rapid decision-making, patient-triaging, and immediate medical care for nearly 50 patients were called upon in a chaotic situation that would have challenged the most experienced of EMT’s. Katianne brings a strong set of training, skills and experience to the program, and we’re lucky to have her onboard as a TotSavers instructor.

Thomas (Tommy) King, an Instructor for TotSavers, brings to us his 20 years of experience with the New York City Fire Department. After serving most of his time fighting fires and responding to numerous emergencies of all kinds in the Borough of Brooklyn, Tom moved on to training new recruits at the FDNY Fire Academy before wrapping up his career with the specialized Hazardous Materials Team (aka “Haz-Mat”), operating under the Special Operations Command. Tom’s CFR (Certified First Responder) training for medical and trauma-related injuries adds to an already impressive resume. We’re lucky to have Tom working with us, and yes… he just happens to be Katieann’s father as well. Another proud accomplishment.
